About the Partnership
BCP has existed since 1999 and is now responsible for leading on
the Stronger theme of the new Sustainable Community Strategy, and for
a number of key areas in the Local Area Agreement. It is one of the
family of partnerships that make up Bradford Vision, the district's
local strategic partnership (LSP). Cross-partnership working is vital
to achieving BCP's goals and this is facilitated through the LSP
structure.
It is made up of representatives of working groups, statutory
bodies and the voluntary & community sector who have direct
involvement with our strategic aims and agreed priorities for action.
It is supported by the Council's policy unit and chaired by a member
of the voluntary and community sector (VCS).
We communicate with stakeholders and partners through our working
groups, open meetings and conferences (such as compact and the annual
VCS conference).
The key areas of work that BCP is working on are:
- Fairness to all: improving the capacity of disadvantaged
individuals to access opportunities and the capacity of
organisations to provide accessible services
- Civic Action: increasing the participation, engagement
and contribution of individuals and communities to the life of the
district
- Community Relations: promoting good community relations
between all within the district
- Confident Communities: working to make the district is a
place where people are at ease and secure
